A member asked:

If i have a sprained ankle that is still swollen after 6 days would an anti inflammatory help? xrays have shown that there are no broken bones.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ankle swollen. : Generally speaking, in the absence of a broken bone, an anti-inflammatory would be a good choice in this context. But if your symptoms persist beyond two days, you would need a re-evaluation and consideration of an MRI to rule out a muscle, tendon or ligament issue.
