Common: This is quite common. The injuries to the inside of the mouth and gums are bathed in saliva. The saliva has antibacterial qualities. Such injuries rarely if ever need stitching and or antibiotics. What your GP did was the standard of care. Sometimes a gargle with mild hydrogen peroxide will clean up the debris faster.

See an expert: It is recommended that all children have their 1st Dental Examination by age1. Your child has suffered a traumatic event that may or may not affect the health of his erupting baby teeth, the underlying permanent teeth, and the surrounding and supporting hard and soft tissues. Have your son evaluated by a Pedodontist, a specialist Pediatric Dentist. You will be pleased with the experience.
