My spouse had partial colectomy 7 days ago for diverticulitis. he has not had a bm since before the surgery. he is walking, eating and drinking well. discontinued percocet and now taking tylenol and colace?

S/p colectomy no BM: Would call his surgeon and as k for recommendations since he is just after surgery. Percocet and other opioids can slow bowel movement as can surgery so that may be playing a role the colace should help .But discuss with his doctor.
