Expect to wait: To begin with you will likely deliver a little early & the kid will spend a week or more in the NICU while the intestines are gradually returned into the abdomen. (silo construction, IV fluids, antibiotics) Optional procedures like a circumcision will often wait until a day or so before discharge. This is something you can bring up with the treatment team but should eventually be easy to get done.
