A member asked:

I keep reading about nsaid use increasing heart attack risk even w/short-term use. how great is the risk & does that mean ppl should stop using nsaids?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: Nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are associated with a range of potential adverse effects, including an increased risk of adverse cardiovascular effects. The risk of different events varies depending upon the clinical context, medication, and dose. If used, NSAIDs should be used at the lowest effective dose and for the shortest duration required in order to limit adverse events.
