A member asked:

Whats the difference between d&c and d&e i was 13 weeks and had a surgical abortion i was put to sleep which one did i have ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

D&C vs, D&E: A D&C is a medical term for dilation and curettage, a procedure done to diagnose bleeding from the uterus. A D&E is another term for dilation and extraction, and refers to a procedure the same as a D&C, but to remove a pregnancy from the uterus. They are interchangeable terms and basically are the same type of surgical procedure.
