A member asked:

Can obesity cause elevated liver enzymes on a blood test?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not by itself: Many obese people do get non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, which is quite serious. This raises liver enzymes. However, you also need to rule out hepatitis C and Wilson's, and allergy to any meds you may be taking. I trust you do not drink. Your liver may simply be asking you for more exercise. Best wishes.
