Alcohol, Vitamins: It is best to take vitamins with a meal to improve the absorption of the supplement. Most alcoholics have significant vitamin deficiencies, and part of treatment include nutritional supplementation. There is no danger in taking vitamins with alcohol, but it is better to include the vitamins with a meal.

Vitamins and Alcohol: Some people believe that taking vitamins can make up for not eating properly. This is not really true. A well balanced diet may however, create a situation whereby vitamins really are not essential. Some chronic alcoholics can suffer vitamin deficiencies, especially lacking in vitamin b1 or thiamine, which can actually cause severe, long term problems.
