Be careful, not fear: About 34,000 of us will die this year in car crashes (shouldn't be called accidents; most are avoidable). That's 1 per 10,000 people. About 34,000 will get shot dead, also rarely accidental, mostly avoidable, and again about 1 per 10,000 people. Flu deaths are not counted separately, but number of deaths for "Flu and Pneumonia" is about 57,000. Even if 100,000 it would only be 3 per 10,000 people.
