I have tsh level of 55 im just curious how scary that level is i just was told if i didnt start taking my meds i would be in the hospital?

Sounds scary: In the US, a TSH level of 5.5 is too high and usually needs treatment. If a patient has a TSH level of 55, that would be 10 times higher than 5.5. Sounds quite scary. Seems like it is time to go back to the doctor and continue the evaulation and treatment.
