Hand fracture: The bone should be healed . The recovery should be like getting stitches.

Hardware removal: You should not need to have the hardware removed unless it is causing discomfort or the hardware is starting to retrograde or back out. If it has to be removed, the recovery should not take long. The bone should be well healed. Apart from a surgical incision, there should be no major healing or recovery.
