I need to find a replacement for probanthine. my pharmacist gave me menograine and it doesn't work. i usually take between 4 - 8 probanthines a day?

Anticholinergics: I have found that dicyclomine is an effective substitute for probanthine. Discuss this with your physician who knows the reason you're taking probanthine. Your pharmacist can also be helpful in answering your question.

Most often used in the past as treatment of GI problems (IBS, ulcer), urinary problems (urgency, incontinence), and excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis). In the U.S., Hyoscyamine would be the closest alternative with very similar properties. Menograine contains clonidine: very different than probanthine.
