Dr. can recheck: Several possibilities in such cases. Doctor can recheck in-person or by video. For example, patient could have a bacterial throat infection such as strep throat, but is not taking his antibiotics correctly. Or, he could have a throat abscess if his infection grew faster than the antibiotic could control it. Or, he could have either influenza or another virus, with strep throat or instead of strep.

Most cases with Flu have their fever go away in 3-5 days. So if your child is not starting to feel well within next 24 hours take him to his doctor.
