Work with team: Once she is past the recovery/stabilization phase, I would expect her to be moved if needed to a specialty center with a diabetes education team. The doc, dietitian & nurses all work to provide her and your family with appropriate teaching on how to deal with this. They will then arrange for how you stay in touch after discharge & have continuous treatment.
