A member asked:

Should i be concerned about my 93-year-old grandmother being in the hospital for 2 weeks?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

YES: As much as many people think hospitals are "safe" and it is okay for prolonged stays, this is not the case for the elderly. Usually , the focus of care is acute and curative and does not address functional or cognitive impairments that often will get worse in hospital.
