Get a chest x-ray: What's happening to you is extremely common in this flu season. That said, a chest x-ray to rule out a more serious condition is definitely indicated.

Cough: Coughing can cause some irritation of the lining of your airways if it is intense or longer period of coughing. I would not be concerned if it is associated with the upper respiratory infection and resolves as you get better. If not, see a doctor.
