Yes: You are having a paradoxical reaction to the codeine. Should list it as an allergy going forward on your medical charts. Can use OTC Robitussin a guafenein expectorant. Do you really need a cough medication? Is the cough from post nasal drip? Could use antihistamine like loratidine. Ask your pharmacist for an OTC product. None contain codeine. See your Doctor for Rx cough med without codeine.
