A member asked:

I had two blisters show up on my tail bone, this is the second time in 6 months. my doctor popped them and tested them for hsv, and i was positive for hsv2, i have only had one partner, he has tested negative. is it possible that the test was wrong?

Wrong test : Which test did he have?? If it was a blood test, and was negative, you may not have been shedding the virus at the time you had intercourse. I encourage you to practice safe sex and be aware of the symptoms of hsv outbreaks.

HSV ?: The tests for HSV2 are usually conclusive. Your partner should have had an HSV serum antibody test to be certain. A visual inspection of the genital area in men will not always be positive.
