Very detrimental: That would be very detrimental to one's mind and body. Unfortunately, substance abuse is a never-ending dilemma in a society that should be able to stop substance abuse. It currently is left up to each individual to stop his or her own substance abuse, but substances are made to be, or evolved to be, rather irresistable. Therein lies the dilemma, especially in a free country.
