Return to Gyn : It is not normal to experience “excruciating horrible stabbing pains that take your breath away” after a Mirena IUS is inserted. Call your Gyn or go to the nearest Emergency Department that provides gynecological evaluation and pelvic ultrasonograms...as soon as you can.
