Probiotics: You can take probiotics at any time of the day and it does not matter with or without food.

A 42-year-old male asked:

When is the best time time of day to take probiotics? Before, during, after meals? Does it even matter?

Best with meals: Very good question. There is much confusion around this topic & many probiotics incorrectly advise on the label to take on an empty stomach, but the limited research that exists suggests that taking probiotics with a meal is best. Stomach acid kills many probiotics and eating reduces the acid, increasing survival. See http://nutritionfacts.org/2014/01/02/how-should-i-take-probiotics/
