Doctors. what's the best test to do for recurring bladder infections for five years in a row now, two to three times a year?

Recurrent UTIs.: The first test should be a urine culture to assess the antibiotic sensitivity of the bacteria/bacterium involved - let’s make sure you’ve been receiving effective antibiotics. After this, possible tests could include kidney ultrasound and cystoscopy.

Culture &Sensitivity: A recurrent urinary tract infection should have the urine lab tested for Culture and Sensitivity. (C & S) at the time of the infection and after treatment with antibiotics. The microscopic culture will determine the type of bacteria and the sensitivity will tell the MD what potential antibiotics may work on that bacterium. A Urologist can perform a cystoscopy to check for obstruction caused UTI's
