Get urine checked: You should probably get a urinalysis and urine culture ASAP. You may want to ask your doctor for additional testing to ensure no complicating factors making it difficult for the antibiotics to fully treat the UTI.

Further tests: You might have a bacterial infection with a drug resistant bacteria. This requires a urine culture to determine the nature of this infection and the antibiotic sensitivity of the bacteria. You should go back to your PCP/doctor and seek further guidance. In the meantime drink extra fluids during the day time. This will increase the urine flow and take away some of the stinging pain on urination.
