I took ranitidine for a week and saw no improvement. i took pantoprazole for a week and saw no improvement. should i go back to my doctor to see if it is an infection? the heartburn and indigestion is constant and nothing soothes it.

Diagnosis: You need to get a proper diagnosis first. As far as pantoprazole goes, it takes at least 2 weeks of daily dosing to start to see effects and won't reach maximal effectiveness until around 4 weeks. I'd recommend going back to see your doctor.
