A member asked:

Advice on varicella-zoster immunoglobulin for a pregnant woman in the early second trimester who has never had chicken pox and at risk of exposure?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

VZIG: VZIG is only intended for at risk mothers who have just been exposed to the live virus and within 96 hours of exposure, but, just being at risk because you never had chickenpox is not a reason to be treated with VZIG
