Much too high: Assuming you mean 18,000, it is a very high white blood cell (WBC) count and could indicate a dangerous health problem. Contact your doctor's office again -- if they know the result, they'll probably find a way to see you soon. If you have fever or are otherwise ill (e.g. weight loss, night sweats, unexplained pain, cough, or other symptoms) get seen immediately, e.g. urgent care or hospital ER.

High: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, The white cell count is high, however, without knowing more details, it is not feasible to say, if it warrants immediate attention. If you have fever, go the emergency room of a hospital.
