A member asked:

I've had allergic rhinitis for years but was only diagnosed beginning of last year by ent. i constantly have blocked ears & antihistamines not helping?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rhinitis: Go back to ENT. Have nasopharyngoscopy, audiogram, tympanograms. Antihistamines generally do not help relieve eustachian tube swelling. Some patients respond to short course of prednisone. Some patients have responded to daily flonase nasal. inflation. Get HEPA filter system. Could try nasal irrigation therapy. Could see allergist for workup and potential desensitization shots
