Can an 18 lb. one-year old take pediacare (acetaminophen) with equate (antihistamine)? he has a fever and runny nose.

I suppose...but....: You did not specify the precise equate antihistamine that you wanted to administer. Furthermore, pediacare products frequently have antihistamines in them as well as the acetaminophen. Consequently, there is concern that there may be potential for "double dosing". The best person to ask is your pharmacist or your regular pediatrician.

Yes: According to the weight-based guidelines. The Acetaminophen is for fever and pain, the antihistamine would be to dry up secretions. Always clear these medications with your pediatrician prior to starting.
