Some thoughts...: Successful dieting requires that a person stick to a plan for years, so a good tasting diet is important. She must be happy with the foods she gets to eat, so severe calorie restriction is usually unsuccessful. A person can CUT BACK on calories enough to lose 1 pound a week, and she will be more likely to stay with that modest type of plan. One pound a week is 52 per year. May need PCOS medicine.

Metformin?: Metformin is a medicine we use to treat diabetes. It works by increasing your body's sensitivity to insulin and has been found to help with weight loss by some people with PCOS. If you are not already taking this, it could be something to discuss with your family doctor.
