Shave biopsy of mole was benign, but mole has come back larger, darker and with "blurry" borders. is this worrying or typical for shave biopsies?

See dermatologist: Shave biopsy of a mole is not a good procedure. See a dermatologist at your earliest and discuss if the whole lesions ought to be removed and the tissue sent a pathologist for examination. Wish you good health!
