FLuids: Flat lemonade, juice 1:5 diluted with water, sports drinks or commercial electrolyte solutions from your pharmacy can all be helpful fluids to take in this circumstance. For babies breastmilk or formula is also very good.

Fluids light food: Oral rehydration therapy is recommended. Buy from a pharmacy, or make by combining water, salts & sugar. Or use diluted juice or lemonade (1 part juice or lemonade with 4 parts water). Eat small, light meals & build up from there. Bland foods (such as crackers) avoid irritating the stomach. It's a good idea to avoid caffeine & alcohol for several days.

Stomach bug : Hydration and light diet should be the prime focus . As a rough guide drink 200 ml fluid after every bout of diarrhoea. Rehydration drinks provide a good balance of water, salts and sugar. They do not stop or reduce diarrhoea. However, the small amount of sugar and salt helps the water to be absorbed better from the gut into the body.
