Clear fluids!: Perhaps water. Ginger ale has some actual anti-emetic qualities. Avoid solid foods till your nausea subsides. Also, hot tea, especially herb or green tea can help.

Rehydration: In the strictest sense, you want to put the stomach to rest. However, simple fluids are best to keep from dehydrating. Children have less tolerance and reserves for fluid and electrolyte loss, so i recommend pedialyte for kids. Adults can tolerate vomiting better, so i recommend water, or mild, sweetened tea. I also use ginger ale or flat coke to control nausea. Foods should be avoided.
