See nutritionist: A nutrition specialist may be able to help you now that you have been diagnosed with uc. Remember uc is an autoimmune disorder. It manifests by the GI tract and this inflammation should be in the colon not the small bowel. Your nutritional status should be ok. Talk to your doctor for a nutrition consult.

Probiotics, vegan : Probiotics bacteria can be added to your diet in pill form, based on theories that they help some bowel conditions although no definite studies for ulcerative colitis. My own bias is a vegan diet but again there is no evidence for that. Vegan diets are likely good for autoimmune conditions and good for bowel and general health. Remember to take vitamin B12 in a vegan diet.
