Chest pain: Sharp chest pain on taking a deep breath can be due to pleurisy, pinched nerve in rib cage, inflammation of a rib cage muscle or injury of the chest wall, blot clot in the lung or early pneumonia. Associated cough, fever, shortness of breath or wheezing point to respiratory tract disorder. Chest wall tenderness suggests rib cage cause. If symptom persists or worsen, get examined by a physician.
