Is it normal to have rib pain with covid. dx on 1/4. hurts to take a deep breath cough or blow nose. only on the right side?

Rib pain: Chest pain on taking a deep breath can be from rib cage strain, other injury or inflammation. It can also be caused by pleural(lung lining) or lung inflammation which can occur a week or so after the covid infection develops. If your rib cage is tender, if there's no fever, persistent cough,shortness of breath, these point to rib cage origin of pain which is less serious and should resolve.?see MD

Pain: Agree with earlier response. Coughing/ straining can pull a muscle or inflame cartilage. Our there could be inflammation of underlying lung tissue. This could still be c/w COVID 19. Suspicion for COVID 19 is higher if you have at least 2 of these symptoms: temp of at least 99.6 F (37.5 C), Cough, Shortness of breath, Chills, Shivering, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat or new loss of taste or

Rib pain : Coughing can strain ribs and chest muscles. Lung infections can cause pain with breathing. Rib pain is very common with a COVID 19 infection
