Yes.: since obesity is a psychological rather than due to medical disorders in the vast majority of people. Eating less, exercising more works on all types of obesity unless there is a quite unusual medical condition (adrenal, thyroid trouble) and even then it would work.. just much more difficult. http://www.amazon.com/dp/0692496157/ is an entertaining book treating the psychology of obesity.
