A member asked:

Can a menstrual cup go beyond the uterus? had tubal ligation. bad cramps since..had exam. dr states it's not in me but is it possible it went beyond

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cup location: The menstrual cup stays in the vagina until it is removed. It can migrate past the cervix to the cul de sac (back) of the vagina just as a tampon does occasionally. The presence of cramps indicate that the back of the vagina may still contain the menstrual cup and needs to be re-examined to be certain that it is absent.
