Depends: Oil in the stool will typically float as would oil in any liquid such as the water of the toilet. The color can vary depending on the underlying cause. Possibilities from clear to orange or other colors. Gallbladder problems, cystic fibrosis, GI absorption problems and inflammatory conditions can all be a factor. A doctor visit to determine the cause with lab analysis of the stool is beneficial.
