Mucus : In the stool is normal in small amounts. If you are having abdominal pain, a large amount of mucus, or blood in the stool, it might be a sign of something called inflammatory bowel disease. See your local doctor if these symptoms are present to be tested. Most likely it is the change in your diet causing you to notice the change in the stool.
