I have a dentist appt already scheduled. i've been having tooth pain for three days that's getting worse. i was wondering if augmentin would help until i see the dentist?

Three days?: If you have pain you should be able to be seen by your regular dentist the same day or at least the following day. If you can't get an appointment sooner, either make the time or get a new dentist. Antibiotics may or may not help and Augmentin is not drug of choice anyway.

Not really: Augmentin is an antibiotic, not a pain killer. Unless you have clear indication of an infection (such as swelling) you should not take it. Instead keep the area clean with warm salt water rinses and gentle brushing. For pain relief alternate Motrin and Tylenol try to have your dental appointment moved up if possible.
