A member asked:

Why does my gestational age date back to april 15th when my lmp was march 24?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Gestational age: Most medical providers "date" the onset of pregnancy from the "lmp", but more accurate dating is from an ultrasound. Also, ovulation occurs after the period and it may be delayed by a week or so. As your pregnancy progresses, the ultrasound exam will provide a much more accurate gestational age.
