Initially, from LMP: The edc (estimated date of "confinement") is based on the first day of the last menstrual period. But the edc may be adjusted on the basis of early ultrasound exams which can pinpoint the due date to plus or minus less than one week. Ultrasound dates are based on fetal measurements.
