Constipation: If you have the urge to move your bowels and can't, insert a glycerin rectal suppository or a dulcolax rectal suppository. If no results, administer a gentle Fleet enema. Don't take any laxatives by mouth in view of the presence of abdominal cramps. If severe cramping persists or if there's abdominal distension or vomiting go to the emergency room for evaluation and possible manual disimpaction.
