Gallbladder disease: Before surgery to remove gallbladder, hydrate to keep the bile thin and flowing and go on low fat diet. Remember the gallbladder does have the blood supply or anatomy to support repair. It is a non-essential organ, best handled by removal when it becomes diseased. Prior to elective surgery (1940), death from gallbladder disease was common.
