ER: Reasons to go to ER for gallbladder, fever, persistent pain, vomiting, signs of jaundice

If: Severe pain not responding to pain relief, persistent vomiting not stopping, or fevers then need to rapidly exclude serious complications and as a dr who works in a rural emergency department I would not begrudge such an attendance. If possible referral to a surgeon should be made to consider operation if appropriate to sort the problem longterm.
