Not a problem: Allergy to shell fish is due to your body reacting against certain proteins in the shell fish, not to the iodine. You cannot be allergic to elemental iodine. Thyroid hormone contains iodine, but the molecule is completely different than molecules in shell fish that cause allergies. Allergies to thyroid hormone are exceedingly rare. You should have no problem taking thyroid hormone if you need it.
