Happens sometimes...: 29 y/o says Painful lump on buttocks after injection? Happens sometimes if the injecting needle nicks some blood vessels & one gets a local bleed (Hematoma). Most disappear w/o much help but sometimes Warm Moist Compress helps. If it gets too painful/ red or have a discharge coming out then one must see a Doctor to Rule Out/ Treat infection.
