Secondary amenorrhea: Secondary amenorrhea post oral contraceptive pill does allow ovulation prior to a period. However, if your periods were skipping or absent prior to pill placement many years ago, you are simply resuming that pattern now that you are off the pill. If PCOS was a concern before the pill, see a GYN MD to assess your period status with a "progesterone Rx jumpstart".

Yes: you may ovulate rarely, with PCOS. More regular ovulation, can be achieved with a lower carbohydrate diet and treatment. See your doctor for treatment. Important to keep the uterine lining from forming an abnormal buildup.
