My foot x-ray shows no significant bone or joint lesion. gp thinks a 5th metatarsal stress fracture but pain has been easing. what does this mean?

Resolving foot pain : If you have been resting that would be the reason for improvement or your doctor has immobilized the foot it is possible you have a stress fracture the clinical signs are pain and swelling it could also be stress response (bone edema)need MRI To confirm since you feel improvement I would recommend rest and some immobilization until symptoms resolve
