A member asked:

Are bone&muscles on human hands symmetric or asymmetric?a small shell fell off&hurt the back of my right hand.notice the scaphoid, capitate,or radius bone on rt hand more protruding than my left hand.is it due to the injury or the existing structrure?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Asymmetry: We are all slight asymmetric. For example, most right handed women have a larger right hand, a larger left breast, and take a longer stride with the right leg. Unless a severe injury caused a fracture or dislocation, the asymmetry was pre-existing.
